Coach Shane began his journey and dream of coaching boxing in 2001 while he was teaching construction at Van Horne High School in Calgary. He started by recruiting a few students that showed a particular interest in the sport and started training them during spares, lunch and any breaks. From there, he built himself a gym in his garage and started training them there. Some of the kids went on to win Golden Gloves in Calgary and Shane realized his true passion for coaching. Since then, he has been involved in many aspects of competitive sports, ranging from competitor to coach and mentor in boxing, having experience in coaching amateur and professional fighters. Dynamite Boxing Club has come a long way from training fighters while he was a teacher, opening a gym in his garage to now having his own beautiful 5000+ square foot facility that he calls home. His passion for the sport has allowed him to grow and engage in the community, creating a place for all ages and levels of experience to step out of their comfort zones and learn the art of boxing. 

Dynamite Boxing Club and Hockey Development has been around the sport of Hockey for a long time. Coach Shane specializes in on and off-ice training for hockey players. He has an extensive hockey background as a player, a coach and a trainer. Dynamite Boxing Club/Hockey Development believes that multi-sport training is the best training for all athletes to become multi-dimensional, well-rounded players. Boxing creates good habits, discipline and self driven work ethic, which is beneficial to all athletes. DBC has been home to many hockey teams throughout the years including the Airdrie Stars, Simons Valley, Quadrant levels, including AA and AAA Bantam and Midget teams, soccer, Lacrosse, Football and Ringette teams and entire Calgary Saints organization for over 6 seasons. Shane not only pushes to get the most out of the athletes that he and his team train but he maintains personal relationships, coaching and mentoring as well as offering guidance to them throughout their athletic careers. Shane has empowered hundreds of people to achieve their goals. His presence is infectious. When he teaches, he makes you feel like you are capable of doing anything.

Being Coach Shane’s son, Brayden has spent his whole life in and around the gym, training and learning from the coaches and fighters.  Brayden has been studying the art of boxing pretty much his whole life. He can break down a fight better than almost anyone else in the gym. His passion for the sport shines through when he's coaching. Brayden is a certified ISSA personal trainer and has level 1 boxing certification however, his knowledge and passion for boxing comes from watching and learning. 

Krista comes to us with a ton of experience working with kids as  she is a substitute education assistant working in Physical Education and in the classroom. Krista also does support work with special needs adults in a gym setting using exercise as a tool. She has been around boxing since 2008, working with amateur and pro boxers (conditioning, strength training and diet) and has been doing personal training for the last 6+ years doing one on one and group fitness.
